Balancing Act
In an act of cosmic balance, today’s weather was . . . disappointing. Rainy. Too wet for a walk.
But that’s okay, I got a lot of reading and knitting done.
For example. I split for the sleeves in my Not-So Shrunken Cardigan. So it’s starting to look at least vaguely sweater-like. (Though, this picture isn’t the best for showing detail.)
And then, I finished the heel of my sock. I’m not sure about how feel about it. I mean, it came out okay, but . . . well first, it took me three tries to get it right. I kept having trouble picking up the slipped stitches on the “increase” section–not because it was difficult, but because I kept losing my place as to which stitch to pick up next. And I don’t know that I love the result. It’s acceptible, but I don’t know if I’ll use this heel again. It was fun to try something new, though.
Speaking of “new,” I did start my blue Zephyr project the other night. I’m betting that you can’t guess what it is . . . and I’m still not quite ready to tell you what it is–not until I’m sure it’s going to work. The only hint is that it’s going to be a variation on an existing pattern.
Really, otherwise, it was a pretty lazy day. Did some laundry. Here’s a look at my assistant, helping to sort the bedding. Such a help, he is!

Tannenbaum.

Chappy makes you feel warm and fuzzy. He is so cute. Knitting wise you are doing well. I like our sweater so far and love the color. Not so sure about that sock heel either, what heel is it?
You’re such a tease about new projects! C’mon - just tell what the blue zephyr is.
Lovely Zephyr..not a clue about its future as an FO. Some variation on Birch?
This was a really colorful post!
Everything is coming along very nicely. Not sure if I like that heel. I think I’ll take a pass on that one.
I love your laundry helper. I had two little helpers with mine. Kat especially likes to stand in front of the dryer and make hand her things to toss in. She comments on everything as to who it belongs to and foremost, that it is wet.
Well, he makes up in cuteness what he lacks in helpfulness - does that count?
Hmm. All I can tell about the new project is that it’s blue. And a little lacy. But not a lot lacy.
let’s see. are you doing peacock bottom up? that’s a lot of cast on stitches. um, what about the golden shawl you recently finished? i dunno i’m tired
