Pangrammatical
I’ve been seeing this one around the blog-world . . . originally at Cara’s most recently at Carole’s and Marnie’s . . . and finally couldn’t help myself.
The idea is to write out a Pangram (a sentence using all 26 letters of the alphabet), photograph it, and post it. I did not one, but three–because how could I resist the classic? But still . . . wish my handwriting were better. In fact, I’ve always said that if a genie granted me three wishes, I’d use the first two for something practical, but for the third, would ask for quick, efficient, legible, distinctive handwriting.
And, you’ll note what my, um, note is sitting on? Wendy Knits. I got an email today telling me it had been shipped and should arrive on the 27th . . . and then at lunch yesterday, the UPS truck pulled up, and voila! I haven’t had a chance to read it yet, although I flipped through it. It looks very tempting (I’ll be picking it up pretty much as soon as I’m done with the computer) and my only “complaint” on sight is that the pictures are all black and white. I can deal, though. It’s kind of nifty to recognize some of the faces!
Then, there’s the great idea over at Clothesknit. Stash Pride. It’s not (necessarily) about adding to your stash. It’s about being proud of having one–however small, however large.
Yarn is all about love, right? I admit . . . and you may have noticed . . . that my yarn purchases have recently outstripped my knitting speed, but I’m okay with that. It all fits in my allotted yarn-closet space, it’s all beautiful, and I really do have plans to use all of it. You know, eventually. I sort through it occasionally to get rid of odds and ends of extras that I think I’ll use but that I know in my soul, I really won’t–or yarn I’ve lost interest in. (It does happen, to me at least!) So mostly, the stuff in there is all “good” yarn. Stuff whose colors I still like, whose feel still tempts my fingers . . . I just really need to knit faster. Or more. Or something!
Now, did you know about the Knitter-Blogger Cookbook that Elizabeth put together? Well, now it’s available for download for those of us who didn’t have a recipe in there. Woohoo!
And, does this mean that excessive attention to knitting is considered to be abnormal by some people? What a fascinating entry/article . . . I really find this blog about the way we humans think absolutely fascinating.

Tannenbaum.

Lovely penmanship. Pen-personship? Thanks for the fun links! Off to click and read.
Yay! Be proud of your stash!
I think your handwriting is pretty cool, actually. And thanks for the heads up on the cookbook - I’m so glad it’s available for us!
that last little bit about passion is cool! and you know what? my fiance understands & supports my passion, and i understand & support his. you know what mine is. his is music. this is the first time he’s not been in a band since he was 19 years old. 23 years. and i can tell he needs it. a passion becomes a drug, of sorts. a fix. he gets edgy if he doesn’t play his bass on a regular basis. i get antsy if i miss knit night too often. i went 3 days without knitting last week (damned tooth) and i was cranky & miserable. picked up the needles, and voila. my mellow (lol) sane self again. maybe having a passion releases endorphins?
I like your handwriting. I think it is stylistic. How are you?
I like your handwriting - it’s better than mine!
I think RR is nuts for having a garage, an attic and half a basement full of A/V geeky crap and he thinks I’m nuts for having a closet (*ahem* or two) full of yarn but we love each other anyway ;o)
My handwriting and spelling has really gone down the toilet since I have been using the computer so much. Weird as this might sound… I am an excellent speller on the computer, even sans spellchecking software. But because I use both hands to type (and spell), I now find it hard to spell with only one hand.
I am not so proud of my stash yet, still feeling guilty for some reason. I think it was because I realized I had more than I thought. Don’t try to understand, I am a complex, cosmic noodle.
Your handwriting is personal, stylized, and an expression of you…..what?….you expected to write like Sister Mary Margaret said you should?…..
Passion comments right on…and it’s about listening….to what makes someone’s face light up….and gives joy…and maybe, learning something…..elitism seems to me to be more of a competitive, one up, I’m better than you stance…..
My sweet neighbors are expecting their first baby…and take sheer delight in my knitting passion…..and sharing (as the to be dad said: you get such joy and happiness over this) and I am thrilled to share & they are thrilled and appreciative…..so maybe passion also includes a sharing…..even if you cannot do or understand the core skill/art/craft
Thank you so much for playing.
