Stoic
I don’t have any pictures for today’s post. Sad, isn’t it? Mostly because there’s really not that much new.
Let’s see. I took Chappy to the vet this afternoon, and $150 later, I know that he does not have lyme disease (a $90 test, ouch!), have a little bottle of cortisone pills for him, but still no answers. Darn that dog for being so brave and stoic! This is the problem with Western medicine–it treats the symptoms without addressing the underlying problem. But at this point, if the anti-inflammatory pills help him feel better, I’m good with that!
I don’t think he feels as badly today–though he still won’t jump up on the furniture or run up the stairs. But since the vet we should keep him quiet, that’s fine with me.
I’ve picked the pattern for my other baby sweater. The child’s placket sweater in “Last Minute Gifts.” I had to recrunch some of the numbers (well, duh, of course I did), and would have started it tonight, except I didn’t have a small enough circular with me, and was too tired to head back upstairs to get one. Really, baby gifts are fun. So instead, I worked on my Calla Lily socks instead. I’ve got another inch or so to go before shaping down for the toes. They really look so pretty. And if I ever make a sweater with that magenta Cascade 220 in my closet, they’ll look just lovely with it.
And, oh yes, I’ve got my Green Gables blocking. It’s still wet, but we’ll see how it fits when it’s done.
I also got my two pals for the YarnAboard2. One for spinning, one for socks. (I know, I signed up for both, I couldn’t help myself.) One of my pals is one whose blog I already read, one is not–but obviously, I’m going to have to start. This is such a nice, fun idea for an exchange. I’m looking forward to it.

Tannenbaum.
House Calls

Hi Deb,
I’m so sorry to hear that Chappy’s feeling so badly. Sure hope he feels better soon. He’s a lovely dog.
Nancy
Poor Chappy! It is so agrevating that the vet can’t help! Our little Murphy is failing and it is hardly worth a trip to the vet so he can tell us what we know. Our best to Chappy (and you)!
Hi Chappie: hope you feel better……
Cascade 220 has a pink bubblegum that is a hoot….and a bright blue heathered that is a great sweater (as in lots of compliments especially from men!)……stay cool!…it’s nasty in CA!
I got my Yarn Aboard buddy too! Just yarn for me; I’m not a spinner (yet). Hope Chappy gets well soon.
The placket from LMKG? Go to the purl site to get the corrected version… it’s just so much easier! in the last printing, still like 2/3 of the math is off. the corrected version is better.
Kate
PS- poor Chappy— have you thought about acupuncture? My mom’s dog had acupuncture last week, he loved it!
Jackson and I are thinking good thoughts for Chappy! I hope you enjoy the Yarn Aboard - I did the first time ’round - especially at the end to see all the places the boxes had been!
I was going to tell you about the errata on the placket sweater but someone has already done that ;o)
I hope you find out what is causing Chappy’s discomfort…but at least the anti-inflammatory will help…
Oh nuts. I forgot to fill out the questionnaire for the Yarn Aboard. Oh well, guess it wasn’t meant to be.
I do so love knitting little kid knits.
I’m planning on knitting that sweater soon, too. And I had the same result with my Yarn Aboard pals - one I read and one I’m familiar with but don’t read regularly. I’m looking forward to this swap a lot.
I can’t wait to see the lovely Calla socks - I covet that yarn. The placket sweater is adorable. What are you using? I hope the anti-inflamatories help Chappy.
Well I’m glad it’s not lyme disease. I’ll keep sending him happy healing thoughts.
So frustrating not to know what is going on! As long as Chappy’s not in pain, though, that is good. Pets to him from me!
I got my Yarn Aboard pal too, but have never seen her blog before, so I’m off to check it out. Hope you are having a good day!
I’m so sorry Chappy’s not feeling well. And really sorry you can’t find the cause - that’s scary and frustrating. Good thing that test was clear! I’ll be sending doggy wellness thoughts your way.
I sure hope Chappy feels better soon. It’s so hard to see the guy uncomfortable.
