Banished
Yep, Autumn Rose is still banished to her knitting bag … at least for the time being.
Cate and I, in fact, just threw a mutual temper tantrum over our neckline woes … different issues, but still … particularly frustrating because the rest of the sweater is done.
My weird gauge issues, I dealt with with aplomb. The math I happily reworked. I cheerily redrew the entire chart. And yet now, at the end, the final step … grrr!
Can you hear me stamping my foot in frustration?
In my heart, I know that what I need to do is to rip out the neckband a second time (argh), adjust the no-longer-fake-seams at the front shoulders to make further adjustments to the line of the sweater, and then redo the neckband for a third time. And yet….
Really, I just hate having to redo things. And having to redo it twice?? So unfair. (Mumble, grumble, stupid gauge, changing as the sweater moved along, stupid, stupid, mumble.)
On the plus side, at least my zephyr-lace shawl is getting worked on. It looks lovely, but yeah, I’m really pretty tired of Zephyr yarn. I love the look, I love the colors, I love the feel of it, but I just don’t love working with it. I’m actually shortening this shawl and once it’s done, the plan, at least, is not to use Zephyr ever again . . . although, I do still have some in my stash….
Oh, and today’s health update? I felt reasonably on the way to well yesterday, but woke up with a sore throat again this morning (sigh). Kind of dragged through the morning but am feeling more like myself tonight. Apparently, this is a cold that’s going around–several people I know (or know of) have it and can’t quite seem to shake it. It could be worse, I suppose. A sore throat’s still better than a drippy nose.

Tannenbaum.
House Calls

I know how frustrating it can be to work a beautiful sweater only to have issues with it. I feel your pain. Just think how awesome it will be when you actually finish it. Hang in there. Glad you are feeling better even if the cold is hanging around. Everyone is getting the ickies.
Peronally, I might not be able to bring myself to pick up such a naughty sweater for a LONG time.
Oh no – we’re in a time-out??? Maybe a good hibernation will help us.
*sigh* Sorry the knits aren’t going so well. Sounds like they (and you perhaps) could use a good long rest.
You know I’m not a ripper so I complete understand your frustration. But I’m sure eventually you’ll show her who’s boss.
Gaahhh! I feel your frustration! You show that sweater who’s boss.
I kind of wish the oversized silhouettes of the 80s would come back. Then we wouldn’t be having these issues…
Seriously, I have been watching the Twin Peaks DVDs my brother loaned me (remember that show? I loved it) and I can’t get over how fantastic all the women’s clothes were. All those russets and olives and crimsons, big comfy sweaters and pleated skirts. Fabulous!
Is there a lot of Zephyr in your stash? Anything in the red/orange/copper family? Maybe we could work out a trade.
I feel your pain. the neckline is why my Arianne was frogged. The yarn is becoming a top down raglan, currently in time out. Good luck with your issues.
I know very well how you feel because I HATE redoing my handknits too. Just like you, if I have to do that, the project would come to a standstill! So sorry this happens … hope you’ll overcome the hurdle soon.
Gasp! Surely it’s just a misunderstanding and not a permanent breach! Sometimes some time apart is healthy.
Speaking of which, boost that immune system. Go U rah!
You could always rip out the neckband now and then put her in a time out. That way the worst is over..?
So very sorry about your knitting woes.
I’ve got that same cold. On day six I thought I was getting better, then my sore throat returned. It’s an evil one!
UGH! I’m so sorry to hear about all the trouble you are having with the neckline! I am almost to the point where I cut the steek so I am keeping my fingers crossed that my gauge is somewhere close to what it was when I began.
