Enforced Radio Silence
So, I couldn’t post last night because we had no electricity, no internet, no phones… From 6:15 at night until 3:11 this morning, it was dark and quiet in Chappy’s house. (Which is why today’s picture of puppy-Chappy is courtesy of 2001.) Breakfast, though, was normal and things were going smoothly until about 10:00, when Mom called me here at work to tell me the power was out again. (Updated to add: The power came back around 11:30, but went back out again at 1:00. Nobody–including the power company–seems to know exactly why. The outage last night was caused by lightning, which makes sense, but today? Who knows? But it’s kind of frustrating!)
So! This hopefully won’t affect my blogging habits LATER (though I wouldn’t count on it at this point), but in the meantime (just in case), I’m taking a couple minutes from work to say hi, because I wouldn’t want any of you to worry (grin).
And, oh yes, to give you a chance to participate in a World Record.
Mozilla is coming out with Firefox 3 today, and they’re trying to make a World Record for the most software downloads in 24 hours. So–since Firefox is by far my favorite browser, I figured I’d help spread the word. I would have downloaded it ANYWAY, but since they’re going for the record, I’ll make a point of downloading it today.
Provided, of course, that I have electricity to do so when I get home later…

Wow! I was ont he train home when the storm hit. There were quite a few huge branches downin Mt. Tabor but we didn’t lose power. Glad you got the juice back on.

have been getting your posts fine on ravelry, but they haven’t been coming through on bloglines….just thought you’d want to know. usually the second power outage has something to do with the power company switching power between areas to even out the load — and they’ll deny they know anything about it. snicker.

I got caught on the way home last night by that storm. While the power flickered during dinner, it fortunately stayed on.
When you can get to the website to download Firefox, while the label indicates Firefox 3, the link is to actually download version 2. Ooops.
