Stringing Along
I know, you’ve been desperate to see some signs of knitting, haven’t you? Well, here you go. My string bag, almost finished. A couple more rows, a bind-off, and then handles. But, seriously, I need to find something more “serious” to do.
And, here’s a blast from my past. There’s a thread on Ravelry for graduates of New Jersey schools, and I saw someone who posted the same middle school and same high school as I went to, only two years before me. When I clicked on her Ravelry ID, I realized that I knew her! In fact, we were good friends my sophomore year, before she graduated and headed off to college. Here’s a picture of her and my best friend at the Renaissance Festival. Because, naturally, after I found her, I went rooting through my old photos (grin). Talk about a small world. We’d completely lost touch sometime during college, so this was particularly fun, running into each other.
Speaking of high school, guess what I was doing 23 years ago tonight?

Tannenbaum.

Clutching a diploma?
So. They had pictures way back in those days!
2001 Chappy is such a cutie pie. (2008 too).

What a great find on Ravelry. I think finding a long lost friend is the best discovery I’ve heard of to date. How wonderful.

Twenty-three years ago tonight? I’ll guess there was either a prom or a graduation ceremony involved.

That is so awesome that you reconnected, especially on Ravelry. Because of classmates.com I reunited with my best friend from the 7th grade. It’s so cool. My guess is that you graduated because it’s June. Too late for proms or anything.

Were you graduating? Your string bag looks great!
Another one for the small world files, eh?

Isn’t it a wee-tiny small world? One of my other blog friends found her next door neighbor on Ravelry!!

Is that Joan?
Small world indeed! It’s amazing the kinds of reunions that happen in this “wired” age we live in.
It’s a small world after all….. Love the bag.

23 years ago? Hm. I thought we were the same age, but maybe not.
Does that bag seem pretty strong? I mean, would it hold a bunch of potatoes and maybe some strawberries and artichokes and green beans? (Inquiring minds want to know.)

So cool that you reconnected with an old friend through a Ravelry group! I love that string a bag!

Oh, my goodness, if that isn’t the most embarrassing photo of me *ever* … it was so great to find you again, but YIKES did you have to post the Ren Faire photo? :-p
(I graduated in 83 - this must have been taken in 84 or 85, because 85 was my last summer in NJ - wow.)
