That orange yarn is delicious, whatever it's going to be.

And I hate that BSOD. Even worse was the black screen with the little cursor that said "can't find computer brain" (paraphrased!)

Lorette's last blog post..Opal

That is a pretty color. glad you are knitting something, I am readytyo start another sock. Good luck with the computer. I do need to do backups as my 4-year Dell acts funny, despite a whole lot of added RAM. I really haven't had much trouble with Vista on my notebook. Knock wood. Dell is warning me of my last chance to buy a computer with XP.

I found Vista sufficiently annoying that I bought an OEM copy of XP Pro and am using that! But I think things are a bit better since the Vista SP came out. Also, there's lots of info about improving your Vista experience. Here are a couple to try (I LOVE this site and the list of freeware): http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/gizmosbest/~3/313627714/best-free-vista-tweaks.htm

Whatever it is, that saffron yarn is lovely! What I found with Vista was that any hardware older than a couple years didn't work (ie. scanner, $600 PDA - still bitter about that one) and existing software was either incompatible or required searching around for patches to make it work. Depended entirely on how motivated the individual companies were to force you to buy a new... whatever vs. helping you use your current one.
