Let’s see.
- Slept late, on the bed, with his Mom.
- 2-mile walk in the park on a beautiful day with his Mom and both his grandparents.
- Oohs and aahs from other people in the park (which he ate up, the flirt).
- Lunch (because his breakfast got split into two parts due to his car-sickness tendency.
- A couple hours outside, relaxing on the deck with his Mom and Grandma. (I love when he rests his chin on the lower railing bar.)
- A good nap inside, while Mom finished reading Harry Potter #6.
- Managed to stave off the much-needed haircut for one more day.
Yep. I’d say this was a practically perfect Saturday for my Chappy!
The bad news? The electric kettle broke. It’s only a little more than a year old, cost $70, made by the reputable Cuisinart company, and … it’s dead. Oh no! I love that kettle, and can’t afford another one right now. Back to the old-school, takes-forever, kettle-on-the-stove method of making tea. Darn it.

A perfect doggy day! Bummer about the kettle. Hmm, I wonder if the cost savings heating water in the electric kettle versus heating water on the stove (taking longer) would outweigh the cost of the kettle? I suppose, if it had a warranty, it was only a year…

I had a feeling that this was the kind of day Chappy would have! I would call Cuisinart about the kettle. it’s not even a year old; they should do something about it. Love you!

The photos of Chappy are great! I was in Target yesterday looking for a new steamer. I saw the electric kettles and made a note of the prices the cheapest one was $14.95. I’ve had mine now for several years. I know one of these days it will quit which is why I was checking on the price. I use it every day some times several times a day! It has to be cheaper than using the stove!
We had one of the cuisinart ones — broke after 3 months– our cheap-o $15 one has been working for 4 years. We love it. I use it at least 3 times a day (tea) and it’s easier to clean than the cuisinart one.
