Glad Chappy is ok. It's hard having a sick pup in the house. Poor Madison tore her ACL and needs surgery. So, I sympathize fully. Now the steek will be fine as long as you stitch the side making certain that the right side stitches have been caught. My first steek was with superwash wool-- not a smart idea. The vest looks good after several years of wear.

Poor Chappy. I hope he bounces back soon. That's a scary symptom and it would've sent me to the vet too.

Oh, poor Chappy! There's nothing worse than when the patient can't tell you where it hurts and after $85.00, neither can the vet. Hopefully it was just one of "life's little mysteries", and will not be repeated.

I am always interested in what people are knitting with silky wool. I have some in the stash and I have to admit I'm a little chicken to use it since everything I've read and heard indicates that it's a little finicky. Your sweater looks great, but I know if it was me there is no way I would have the discipline to swatch. Even if there was definitive proof that the final product was going to be less than satisfactory, I would keep knitting like I was in a trance, helpless to do anything other than aim for the finish line. The fact that you are even discussing swatching is admirable.

It was wonderful meeting you and your Mom at Starbucks today. I am ready to start a new pair of mittens with the yarn I purchased at the Knitting Yarn.

I hope that Chappy is back in the pink of health today. A few drops of bright red blood is more likely to mean gum disease or a cut in the mouth, while vomit that looks like coffee grounds is more likely to mean an ulcer or bleeding in the stomach. You can check this site for info: http://www.dog-health-guide.org/dogvomitingblood.html

Poor Chappy!

You could always machine stabilize the steek (heresy in some quarters, I know), which would make it bullet proof. Definitely swatch before you cut - I'd have my doubts about anything with silk content.

Poor Chappy! Riley and Lewey and Rae (visiting dog) all send their best wishes.
And Riley once spent much of an afternoon staring and growling at a large sun tea jar that I had sitting out on the sidewalk. 'But Mom, that WASN'T there before!'

I'm grateful there was nothing obviously wrong, but I agree with you. If there's anything wrong, find it now and fix it. Poor Mommy and Chappy. Hope the weekend finds your little guy 100% and you a lot less worried. And, the sweater looks wonderful, but go for the swatch and alleviate your concerns.

Poor Chappy! Non-specific but startling symptoms - ugh. Hopefully it doesn't happen again, and that a bath and trim have him looking his usual smart self!

Pretty cool about him having a good imagination!
