Whoa! You scored big with that sale yarn! Love those colors too. For wool blanket washing, I wash in the machine on the wool/cold setting and then either hang it over the deck railing or over the clothelines strung up in our basement. Since all our wool blankets are woven and not knit by me, this winter will be the winter I start a blanket. Log Cabin probably.

Kim's last blog post..T is for

i have the same problem with fingerless mitts. which is why i tend to go for the ones with fingers, if that makes sense, lol. i start with the 3 middle fingers, run for a few rounds, then add in the pinky, and then WAY down the line, add the thumb.

looks good though. i'm sure you could adapt the pattern to put fingers in it

Oh yes, I know that not intending to buy yarn feeling. But you did as well as I did, only many more skeins.

Dry cleaner for the blanket seems to be the best choice. One that you trust.

Great photo of me and Cathy !!!! I finished my mittens and took them for a test walk this morning in 24F weather. They were nice and warm. I'm getting ready to start another pair with yarn I purchased at the Knitting Lab.

You can also check out the dog sweater I knit for Ruby this week. Maybe Chappy needs one, too. http://beadsrock.com/blog/2008/11/23/hunting-season-be-wery-wery-quiet/

If you figure out that blanket washing thing, let me know! I made my aunt a Frog Tree alpaca throw several years ago. It came back to me last summer after she passed away...not a clue how to wash it! I'm thinking dry cleaners, since they do a good job on my one cashmere (Costco!) sweater. Nice haul on the yarn!

Whew about Chappy! Always so worrying when our kids are sick... I need a knitting adventure like that. Or maybe it's better that I don't have one, considering the state of my stash...
