Very lovely. What are the mirrors made of? Around here they would probably be quickly broken by an accidental kick.

Believe it or not those GLASS MIRRORS on the stairs are 34 YEARS old. I’ve never had to replace any of them…one got loose a few times and I just glued it back into place.
And yes… I’m amazed their still in one piece after all these years.
I can’t take credit for thinking them up though, I got the idea from a friend who did it first.
I’m going to miss them. Hmmm, can you attach mirrors to carpeted stairs !!!

Okay – I’m at a loss. I know there are times I can be particularly dense, so be kind…what is the purpose of the mirrors on the stair riser? It seems like it would be visually confusing, but as I said, I can be dense at times….

I guess I was eight years old when I first experienced those mirrors. I thought they were the coolest thing in the whole world (Although the pinball machine in the basement was a close second. When you’re eight you’ve got your priorities.) I have many fond memories of playing on those steps. They’ll be sorely missed.
