It’s so nice that you and your parents are starting to feel at home in your new house. It seems like a very bright and cheerful home in the pictures.

Tell mom I said feel better. I am fighting a sinus infection myself (apparently it is going around). It is really unfortunate that the cake came out not up to par, it looked yummy. I remember 3 crown. I only ever has one bad cake from there, but you are right, when they were good they were awesome!

mmmmmmm… that can go towards both the cake as well as your freshly spun yarn!! i have not started spinning my spring share as of yet. I am planning on taking a class this winter to fine tune my spinning skills, my wheel still gets the best of me at times, maybe it’s cause i am self taught…? so are you ready for the beginning of the holiday season in the new home?

You’ve probably tried this already, but what about contacting the family who used to run the bakery and asking if they’d sell you a copy of the cake recipe? Certainly couldn’t hurt…

I always wash my handspun (and my smaller handknits) in a HUGE mixing bowl. It’s easier than dealing with the sink. And anything that doesn’t fit gets tossed in the washing machine….I fill it with an appropriate amount of water, turn the machine off, let the stuff soak for a while, pull it out, and then spin the water out. That wouldn’t work with a fancy front-loader, though, I guess!

Having been felled by a cold for the last few days myself, I hope Mom is feeling better soon!

I was admiring that Cormo over on Flickr wishing it had a name- thought it might be Juniper Moon. Mine is calling my name but must finish bunny first. Oh and Martha Stewart has a reliable lemon curd recipe that I’ve used many times.
