1981
Not much of a post tonight. I walked into work yesterday and found out that one of my co-workers–a woman I’ve worked with for fourteen years–had died suddenly from a heart attack on Saturday. She wasn’t one of my closest work-friends, but she was one of the nicest people you’d want to meet. She worked hard at two jobs and was always willing to go out of her way to do someone a favor.
Our company has been in business since 1981, and we have never, ever lost a current employee to the grim reaper, and believe me, this is a record we desperately wanted to keep.
So, you can imagine, it’s been a couple of long, sad days at the office.
Which reminds me … Are You Doing What YOU Love?

House Calls

Debbie -
Who passed away? Did I know them? I got your message. As ususal my weekend is booked. This is the first weekend I can ride, so provided the weather cooperates, I am getting my chirstmas photo taken andriding on Firday, riding on saturday, and on sunday I have a party.
Call me on Friday morning if the weather is not good and maybe I can come by then (riding will obviously be cancelled and so will the photos).
that is always so sad, especially when it happens so suddenly and completely unexpected. She didn’t get to relax and enjoy retirement.
I have been lucky to be able to do what i love for the last 5 years, all thanks to hubby.

I am so sorry for your loss Debbie. Being so close to the holidays makes it all the more sadder.
I just saw a bumper sticker about an hour ago that said “Live the Life you Love”. Goes right along with your blog post of doing what you love. Thanks for the reminder. Something to ponder this long weekend.

I’m so sorry to hear that – it is such a shock when that happens. How sad for her family, especially so close to the season of family gatherings and togetherness.

I’m so sorry – we lost one of my co-workers last summer, who died suddenly and unexpectedly two days before her 33rd birthday. It is an experience that I never want to repeat, because it affects you at both personal and work-related levels.
