Bigger Button Bin

Yep, it’s that time again–time to pick the buttons for my sweater!

These I’ve actually had for years. They are almost exactly the same color as the sweater. They’re reflecting the light oddly in this picture, but trust me, it matches so well, they almost get lost. Which is both a plus and a minus.

These I only photographed because–and again, they’re reflecting the light in a way that makes them look lighter–they are also the perfect color for this sweater. They are just way too big to remotely work.

These could almost work. The color is just right, but they are wafer thin, which makes them less than practical for a sweater. I just don’t think they would hold.

These little brass ones are a surprising possibility. I didn’t expect to like them this much on this particular sweater, but I laid them out and thought, Hmmm…

But, really, these are the ones I’m leaning toward. Little, brown leather buttons with a color that doesn’t quite match, but which compliments it nicely.

My only real problem?

My little button bin is overflowing. I have to come up with something bigger to store them in.

Anyway, what do YOU think about my button choices? I already have Mom’s vote…

    #1 choice – the brass buttons
    #2 choice- the brown leather
    They’re both look lovely on the sweater.

    And I like the brown leather first, then the brass, then red button #1. Good luck. I always seem to pick the wrong one and then wish i’d chosen the other. I’m sure you’ll pick the perfect button, Deb. All your work is so thoughtfully done, you can’t go wrong.

    I like the brass best, then #1 and then the leather. The leather looks kinda odd on my monitor so I’m sure it’s not really what I should be seeing.

    I vote for the first ones. I think that sweater has an alot going on, so the simpler the better. I have a feeling I know which ones you’re going with, tho;-D

    Before I vote, is this sweater REALLY yours? The last time I voted I was in the majority and you over-ruled us ‘cuz you gave the sweater to your realtor (very dictatorshiply (?) of you).

    I appreciate that you wanted those buttons for yourself but they truly complimented the sweater better than the ones you attached…

    Sooo…do you want opinions on what REALLY matches the sweater or do you want opinions on the best buttons (ones that you should continue to save)?

    Any wonder why elections are so stressful for me?? :-)

    Personally, I like the brass best, but I’m sure whatever you pick will work great.

    I like the brass best too. I keep my buttons in my grandmother’s old coffee can. It’s filled to the top with buttons she saved, then my mom saved and the can was passed to me and has buttons I saved also. I usually go with buttons my grandma saved. I love the look they give to sweaters. It think that’s why I like the brass ones the best. Your work is beautiful and I know you will make the best choice.

    The first ones. The brass are nice, but too small for the sweater – proportion is wrong. I like the euro looking ones with the two holes in the second pic, but those are too big. So Goldilocks, it looks like #1 in my fairy tale.

    i completely agree witht hte ones you are leaning towards! As much as i like the others i think the red ones add without distracting from the sweater itself. sweet red!
